Find Your Perfect Disney "Home"—from Budget-Friendly Fun to Ultimate Parkside Luxury
When planning a Walt Disney World vacation, where you stay can have just as much impact as which park you visit. With over 25 Disney-owned resorts on property, there’s truly something for everyone—whether you’re a first-timer on a budget, a couple seeking a romantic escape, or a family looking for the most magical experience possible.
Disney organizes its resorts into three main categories: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. Each offers its own level of immersion, amenities, transportation options, and pricing. Within those categories are unique rooms and special touches that can elevate your vacation into something unforgettable.
Let’s explore what makes each tier special—and why some rooms are true hidden gems.
Value Resorts: Big on Fun, Easy on the Wallet
Key Features:
Playful Disney theming and oversized icons
Budget-friendly pricing
Basic amenities and compact room sizes
Standout Resorts and Rooms:

Art of Animation Resort
Family Suites themed after The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars. These suites sleep up to six guests and include two bathrooms, a kitchenette, and separate sleeping areas—perfect for larger families wanting more space without leaving the Value category.
Pop Century Resort
Recently renovated with modern touches and convenient Skyliner access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. A favorite for budget-conscious couples or small families who still want easy transportation and fun theming.
All-Star Sports, Music, and Movies
Vibrant, larger-than-life décor makes these great for younger children. Opt for a
Preferred Room for closer proximity to the main pool and dining.
Why It’s Magical:
Value resorts let you stay immersed in the Disney experience at an affordable price. They’re ideal for families who plan to spend most of their time in the parks but still want that Disney magic from morning to night.

Moderate Resorts: A Balanced Disney Experience
Key Features:
Larger rooms and resort grounds
More refined theming and amenities
Pools with water slides, multiple dining options, and some non-bus transportation
Standout Resorts and Rooms:
Caribbean Beach Resort
Themed like an island paradise with vibrant villages and a lively main pool. Pirate Rooms add extra fun for young adventurers, with pirate ship beds and swashbuckling décor.
Port Orleans – Riverside and French Quarter
At Riverside, you’ll find Royal Guest Rooms decorated in rich, regal detail with fiber-optic headboards and tributes to Disney princesses. French Quarter offers a compact, romantic New Orleans vibe, complete with beignets at the food court.

Coronado Springs Resort
Blends Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest influences. The Gran Destino Tower offers upscale rooms and even Club Level access, rare for a Moderate resort, giving you upgraded services and private lounge perks.
Fort Wilderness Cabins
Rustic yet well-appointed cabins include a full kitchen, grill, and private patio—perfect for families who enjoy outdoor space and extra privacy.
Why It’s Magical:
Moderate resorts offer a perfect blend of value and comfort. The themed rooms add storytelling and excitement, while extra amenities—like waterslides, sit-down restaurants, and the Skyliner or boat access—make every moment outside the parks just as enjoyable.
Deluxe Resorts: Where Disney Magic Meets Luxury
Key Features:
The most immersive theming and premium locations
Spacious, well-appointed rooms and suites
High-end dining, signature pools, and exceptional recreation
Direct access to parks by walking, monorail, boat, or Skyliner
Exclusive perks like Club Level and Extended Evening Hours
Staying at a Deluxe Disney Resort is not just about accommodations—it’s about being completely surrounded by magic, 24/7. These resorts offer some of the most iconic and enchanting experiences in all of Walt Disney World.
Standout Resorts and Rooms:
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
A South Pacific-inspired escape with lush landscaping and a beachfront view of Magic Kingdom fireworks. The Overwater Bungalows feature private decks, plunge pools, and some of the most exclusive views on property.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Sleek and modern, located just steps from Magic Kingdom. Book a Theme Park View Room for floor-to-ceiling windows facing Cinderella Castle. You can watch the nightly fireworks from your bed.
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Victorian elegance meets Disney charm. Club Level rooms provide concierge service, access to a private lounge with complimentary snacks, beverages, and evening desserts. Signature dining and a full-service spa make this a favorite for special occasions and honeymoons.

Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas
Inspired by America’s great national parks. The Copper Creek Cabins are standalone luxury units with fireplaces, hot tubs, and lake views—ideal for guests looking for serenity and space.

Animal Kingdom Lodge
One of the most unique experiences in Disney World. Savanna View Rooms let you watch giraffes, zebras, and other African wildlife from your balcony. With rich cultural details, award-winning dining, and peaceful ambiance, it’s an unforgettable escape.
Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
A New England-style resort located just a short walk to EPCOT and a boat ride to Hollywood Studios. The shared Stormalong Bay pool is like a mini water park with a sand-bottom pool, lazy river, and shipwreck slide. Club Level guests receive access to a private lounge and concierge assistance.
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
Step into the charm and whimsy of turn-of-the-century Atlantic City at this waterfront resort nestled along Disney’s lively BoardWalk. Just a short stroll to EPCOT and a scenic boat ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the BoardWalk Inn offers an unbeatable location paired with timeless elegance.

Deluxe-Only Perks: Elevate Your Experience

I’ve always been a lover of the “all star” resorts. They have everything you need. But I recently stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and it was breathtaking! The view, the rooms, the dining, the shopping; all great!
I've stayed in both value and deluxe. Both were amazing stays. But if you have a chance, highly recommend staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge! Being able to wake up and open your curtains and seeing beautiful animals walking around, it's amazing!!!
